關於 AA / About

Auditory Aesthetics(AA)是一個專注於聲音與科技的系列計畫,將聲音視為研究與創作的核心媒介,透過講座、展演與工作坊,探討聲音如何在當代科技文化中被重新建構與想像。

AA 關注的議題橫跨聲音工程、演算法作曲、空間音訊、沉浸式環境、深度學習,以及人工智慧音訊處理。這些領域的交錯涉及技術實作,也觸及美學觀點與感知模式的轉變。

透過邀請來自藝術、工程、設計與學術的參與者,AA 以跨領域視角切入,追索聲音如何在前沿技術發展中重新組構知識,挑戰既有的創作實踐。系列由吳秉聖於國立清華大學藝術科技研究所主持。

Auditory Aesthetics (AA) is a series dedicated to sound and technology. It positions sound as a central medium for research and creation, and through lectures, performances, and workshops, it examines how auditory practices are reconfigured and reimagined within contemporary technological culture.

AA addresses a wide spectrum of concerns across audio engineering, algorithmic composition, spatial and immersive sound, deep learning, and AI-based audio processing. These intersections involve technical implementation as well as aesthetic inquiry and shifts in modes of perception.

By engaging participants from art, engineering, design, and academia, AA approaches sound from a cross-disciplinary perspective, investigating how it operates within emerging technologies to reorganise knowledge and challenge established forms of creative practice. The series is hosted by Ping-Sheng Wu at the Graduate Institute of Art and Technology, National Tsing Hua University.

Neural networks have transformed analog audio emulation from months of circuit analysis to minutes of AI training. This talk traces the evolution from traditional DSP methods to modern deep learning approaches. We explore the technical journey from research to deployment, examining how pro audio products achieve near-perfect real-time emulation and how AI mixing and mastering tools are reshaping professional production workflows.

An overview of MONOCOLOR's audiovisual practice across the pillars of sound, image, light, and space, with insights into building flexible, robust realtime systems that treat sound and image as the same material. Topics include previsualization, working in dome environments, and combining immersive video with immersive audio formats.
